4 Reasons to Switch to a 2 Month Annual Fund Season 💸

Apr 07, 2022

✨ Hi there,

🏫💸 I'm asking you to switch to a 2 Month Annual Fund Season - you might think, "Aubrey, are you crazy?" My answer is no, I have the data to back it up, my friend 📊🙌

Today I'm sharing with you 4 reasons why this switch will be one of the best decisions you've made for your school! Let's begin... 🤗

1.) Donors get Burned out 😓 Think about it, it's never a good idea to pester anyone about the same thing over and over again, right? (Especially throughout the entire year.) We want to be mindful of how often we're asking, and by minimizing the fundraising window, in a way you're allowed to ask more frequently since it's such a short burst 💬

2.) It Creates Urgency ❗️ Since your fundraising isn't dragged on throughout the entire year, there's now a finite amount of time for donations which creates a sense of immediacy. It's also a great way to get the community involved - if you rolled in a Giving Tuesday or a Day of Giving and you make it participatory, you get others excited! And because it's such a condensed period, they will gladly join 🎉

3.) Makes you Money! 💸 You can make just as much during 2 months with a strategically shortened fundraising season than you can the whole entire school year. We've seen our clients who go from a solid 12 month annual fund into a shortened period and have raised just as much or more, and continue to surpass their previous annual fund amounts! 📈

4.) It Allows You to Have More Stewardship and Cultivation Opportunities 🌱  Imagine you had all that extra time during the other months when you no longer have to send out emails or reminders and instead could devote that time toward relationship building, cultivation building, new family onboarding, getting to know your community, etc. Think what that would do for fundraising and retention efforts! Amazing, right?
