Rebuilding Your School Community for Both New and Current Parents

Mar 18, 2022

✨ Hi there,

💬 📑 In receiving our end-of-year surveys, there is a clear reoccurring theme...Families want community. Not just new families, but everyone 🫂

The last couple of years have been hard on our communities, and because of this, we haven't been able to fully return to a place where we can invest in building solid connections over the year within our schools 🏫😔

So there are a couple of things I implore your to start thinking about as we set goals toward community building for this upcoming year! 🙌

1.) Ask yourself the following questions, "What do I want my community to feel like? How am I going to communicate to build community and showcase what's happening in other parts of the school? What is the volunteer program going to look like? What sort of events am I planning for the entire year?" etc. These questions will create the building blocks you need to move in the right direction.

2.) Empathize through the lens of a parent in each grade 📚 Let's say you're a first-grade parent - how many opportunities do you have to connect with other parents in your child's class? Understand how you can create opportunities for connection because establishing these relationships is essential in rebuilding your community.

🤗 In the video, I share with you a special bonus tip, so be sure to watch!
