What should you do with your school's wait pool (waitlist)?

Sep 09, 2020

Hey there,

Let's talk admissions, enrollment and...wait pools!

Due to the unusual situation with public schools and COVID-19, many private schools are seeing an influx in admissions inquiries.

But not all these schools have room for the applicants. And so they end up on a waitlist (or wait pool).

But what are you doing with this wait pool? How are you engaging with them?

We have their email and contact information. This is a tremendous opportunity to make sure that even if they never decide to ever attend your school, they showed interest at one point.

And how do you think they would feel if you sent them a nice handwritten note afterward? Or a picture or something fun for their child?

Their idea of you and how they would perceive you would go up. And the external brand visibility and brand awareness would be huge because they would tell their friends, "Wow, that school was really nice. They did x, y, and z and I’m not even enrolled there." You'd stand out.

These are the strategies that set you apart. And now is the time to execute them.
